I am about to finish my ninth year in education. This year I had the privilege of teaching third grade. Previously I taught second grade for four years and third grade when I first began teaching. It took a little while to get used to teaching third after teaching second for a long time. I think more than anything it was the pressure of a testing grade. But I made it through the school year, a little bumpy but made it.
I am married to my amazing husband Greg and together we have two beautiful girls. A five year old (Sophia) and a 17 year old (Destiny). I love all of them immensely. There's never a dull moment in the house with two children of that age. We will have a senior in high school and a first grader in the next school year.
When I began teaching some years ago, I didn't realize how hard was to find bilingual resources. The district in which I worked only had a few available. I began creating bilingual resources out of necessity. Now is just a matter of finding time to sit and create. I am currently in the process of getting my Masters degree in School Counseling. I love teaching children, and I know that becoming a counselor will help me reach and impact even more students.
